Diese Seite richtet sich an Benutzer ohne französische Sprachkenntnisse, die sich aber trotzdem gerne an der französischen Wikipedia beteiligen wollen. (Unter dem Abschnitt „Botschaft“ haben sich hilfe-bietende deutschsprachige Teilnehmer dieser Wikipedia eingetragen.)

Die Anzahl der Artikel auf der französischen Wikipedia beträgt zur Zeit 2 629 475.

Kurz:

• Sie können Fragen über die französischen Versionen von Wikimedia-Projekten stellen;
• Sie können Fragen über die französische Sprache und Kultur sowie über andere französischsprachige Länder stellen;
• Sie können sich über die Software MediaWiki erkundigen;
• Tipps und Vorschläge zur französischen Wikipedia sind willkommen;
• Sie können jede beliebige Sprache verwenden, um Fragen zu stellen; in der Regel werden aber die englischen schneller beantwortet.
• Bot-Anträge können auf Wikipédia:Bot/Statut gestellt werden (am besten auf Französisch oder Englisch);
• Der international Kanal ist eine Möglichkeit, mit der französischsprachigen Wikimedia-Community in Discord zu kommunizieren.

Gilles Dyan

How do I naturally explain that somone was the first chiropractor in Canada, but was also a woman?

It is pretty easy to explain in english because the words are not gendered, but in French with this article Joshua Norman Haldeman I want to explain that his mother was the first chiropractor in Canada, and there were no male chiropractors who came before her. It's a bit tricky indeed. One could assume that if there were male chiropractors before her, but no females, the sentence would highlight this by saying "la première femme chiropraticienne", but this reasoning still leaves some doubt.

By the way, I'd write "au Canada" instead of "canadienne", because she could be a Canadian practicing abroad. Regards — Vega (discuter) 3 mai 2024 à 13:31 (CEST)

If the idea is to focus on Haldeman's mom's activity, I would go with « Sa mère est la première personne à exercer la chiropraxie au Canada » ("His mother was the first person to practice chiropractie in Canada").

Also, French Wikipedia writes articles in present tense, not past tense. :)

Hey, the Wikidata property P2182 which is used by Modèle:Ministeri on French Wikipedia has been archived on Wikidata and it has been replaced by P12910. The IDs have changed from numbers to strings, and it looks like many articles here have those old numbers entered as template parameters.
