Hi Batsv,

To answer your request to Valerie75, I can specify that Charles Morren was born in Ghent, probably in a French speaking family of the bourgeoisie. He was educated in French, he wrote nearly all of his publications in French, only a few in Flemish, in Latin or in English.

Thus I think he was definitely French speaking.
